Details

To read and code journal articles for patterns regarding the effects of Augmented Reality(AR) experiences on people. (articles have been selected and will be shared)

The result is a cross-referenced list of themes and annotated bibliographies of the information found across various journal articles and book chapters to uncover the work already completed by researchers in the field on how AR changes those who engage with it.

Consolidating existing research will contribute to the foundation for a literature review.

Deliverables

1. Once selected, we will kick off with a team meeting to share all necessary information and answer questions.

2. You will receive an invite to join a Mendeley group to find research papers for the project.

3. Papers will be assigned. You will read and highlight any passages that your attention. Themes will be offered as a starting point, but the discovery of new themes is desired.

4. After reading and highlighting themes in an article, youStudents will write a short 2-3 sentence annotated bibliography in your own words describing how this article fit into this research project.

5. Passages that provide evidence of the effects of AR experiences are then pasted into a word document using the heading to group information into themes (an example will be provided). Specifically, we are looking for repeating themes, methods and results. We are also looking for debates and outliers. Who disagrees with the majority? Why? Are there any gaps?

Mentorship

We will operate as a team for this project. We will meet weekly ( twice or more if required) to discuss findings and problems. We will kick off with a group meeting to discuss the process and ensure all feel comfortable with the task. Two others at SMARTlab will complete this same task, and I am one of them.

I am available to answer questions at any time and always happy to jump on a Google Meet.

As students, you can access your library's database, so all articles are available.
